Obituary of Teresa Anne Pommer (née Dwyer)

August 7, 1928 - Mitchell, Ontario, January 11, 2015 - Morriston, Ontario - Teresa Anne Pommer, beloved wife of the late Kenneth Pommer, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Morriston Park Nursing Home. Dear mother of David (Vicki Brown) of Calgary, AB, Margaret (Peter Warmels) of Rockwood, ON, and Daniel (Regina Saunders) of Winter Park, FL. Grandmother of Jacob (Claire Connors) and Timothy (fiancée April Brockman) Warmels, Eryn (Desirie) and Adam (David Rasmussen) Pommer, and Rachel Grace Pommer. Great-grandmother of Daneeka Pommer. Predeceased by her son Richard in 2007. Teresa was one of the youngest of a family of 12 children raised on a farm near Mitchell, ON and graduated as a Registered Nurse from Kitchener-Waterloo Hospital. It was in Stratford at a Saturday evening dance that she met the love of her life, Ken Pommer. They married in 1951 and spent 58 wonderful years together in London, ON. When her children were in their teens, she went back to nursing at Mount St. Joseph Infirmary and Parkwood Hospital in London, ON, until she retired. In their retirement, Ken and Teresa enjoyed exploring and experiencing the charms of rural Southwestern Ontario. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 15th from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL , 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Friday, January 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery, London, ON. For those who wish to make a donation in Teresa’s memory, the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation were close to her heart.
