Kindly remembered by the children of Eva Lotz Bittermann and Hans Bittermann, Robert and Roland and respective families, and the children of Adam Lotz and Trudy Schindler Lotz, Cory, Kathy, Laurie and respective families. Remembered with affection by brother-in-law Albin Loy and wife Anne Lore Roth-Loy, and sisters-in-law Amalia Belt, Agnes Loy, Richilde Loy, and their respective families, all residing in Germany. Due to WWII events, Tilly and her family were forced to flee her birthplace and to seek refuge in Austria. It was in Austria that she met her future husband Hugo, whose own family had fled to Austria from Romania. The family resettled in Germany, and later she and her husband immigrated with their two children to Canada in January 1958. They made West Lorne, ON their home for 40 years where Tilly was instrumental in establishing her husband’s welding company West Lorne Welding Ltd. For many years she was a valued employee at Peckham’s/Fulmer’s Restaurant and Lemon’s Dry Goods Store. After the passing of her husband, she moved to London to be closer to her daughter’s family. Remembered by friends, neighbours, and family as a feisty, independent, and strong-willed woman, Tilly fulfilled her strong desire to live independently in her own home. Her family sends their heartfelt thanks to her terrific neighbours the Souliere, Luckovitch, and McLaren families, the caring personal support workers from CCAC, and Marg Thompson. Many thanks as well to the paramedics and wonderful physicians, residents, nurses, and allied heath staff at University Hospital in the emergency room, cardiac cath lab, coronary care unit, and the intensive care unit. A private service was held at Evergreen Cemetery in West Lorne. No flowers by request.
