Obituary of John Howard Lundy

Peacefully, at his home, with his family by his side, on Friday, October 17th, 2014, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Rena for 67 years. Loving father of David (Linda), Joel, Daniel (Jane), Stephen, Rebekah, Joanna, Jonathan (Kristen) and Andrew (Heidi). Proud Grandpa of Mark (Nellie), Nathalie, Christy, Kate (Wilson), Guinnevere (Antonio), Joshua, Natasha, Eden, Zoie, Matthew, Benjamin and Sam, and Great-Grandpa of Joanna. Dear brother-in-law of Ted Lamperd. Predeceased by daughters-in-law Brenda and Lynn. Howard was an elementary school principal for the London Board of Education for over 30 years. He served as Deacon at First Baptist Church and Sunrise Baptist Church, and attended South Nissouri Presbyterian Church for the last number of years. In their retirement, Howard and Rena opened their home as a retreat (“SHIELING”) for many people who needed a helping hand. His life was generously spent for others. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Arva. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Howard are asked to consider Dalit Freedom Network Canada (providing schools and education for the ‘untouchables’ in India) or the Canadian Bible Society.
