Obituary of Mildred Ruth Smythe

Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice on Friday, September 12, 2014 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Bertram Smythe (1993). Loving mother of Jim (Susan) of London and Bill (Susan) of Regina. Cherished grandmother of Lynne, Erin (Bill), Gregory (Diana) and Katherine. Dear sister of Betty Scharf of Edmonton. Predeceased by her son Dean, daughter Sandra and brother William Pearse. Millie was a retired RN, and, until recently, led an active and independent life. She was involved in her church and the Canadian Women’s Club, was a valued volunteer for Mission Services, and enjoyed music and theatre performances. Her compassion for others will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service.
