Frieda emigrated from Switzerland to Canada in 1948 with husband Walter Hug (deceased) and her two daughters. The family moved to a dairy farm near Mitchell. When she moved to London, Frieda worked as a cook in a senior’s home until she retired, then became a house-mother and cook for the D.U. fraternity (UWO). Frieda always kept a beautiful and productive large garden, providing food and homemade jam to many. Family and friends will remember her determination and commitment to hard work, as well as her generosity to others. For the past dozen years, Frieda was cared for by her daughters in their homes, before entering Mount Hope earlier this year. Frieda is remembered on a memorial stone in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
