Obituary of George F. King

With his loving family present, George peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, July 10th, 2014. Always grateful, blessed and happy, a true inspiration to all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Gwendolyn (Holmes) King and daughters Beverly McLean (David) and Deborah Vreman. Granddad was so proud of his four grandchildren: Alexa Vreman, Tony Vreman, Katie McLean and Brad McLean. Predeceased by his parents Percy and Marian King, brothers Jack, Tom and Clive and granddaughter Anna McLean. George had a heart for the land. He frequently shared his beautiful roses with friends and family. George was associated with Union Gas serving as a residential sales representative in London for 35 years. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Deborah Norrie and the VON Palliative Home Care Team, especially Lyndsey Reid. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at Oakridge Presbyterian Church, 970 Oxford Street West, London, on Monday, July 14th, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held on Monday at 5:00 p.m. at Maple Leaf Cemetery, 20845 Morris Road, Tilbury. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of George are asked to consider the VON (Middlesex-Elgin) or the Boys and Girls Club of London. He was a beautiful man. The world is sadder today to have lost such a loving soul.
