Obituary of Donald Vaughan

Peacefully on Thursday, June 26th, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London, surrounded by loving family, in his 89th year. Beloved husband for 68 years of Vera Vaughan. Dear father of Donald Vaughan, Jr. (Margaret), and Glenda Finlay, of London. Loving grandfather of Adam Vaughan (Lisa), of St. Thomas, and Whitney Finlay, of London. Proud great grandfather of Saige, Evan and Delaney. Brother of Lloyd Vaughan (Anne), of Brantford. Don will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Douglas, Norman and sister Beverly. Don was a WWII Veteran, serving in Canada and in England. He and Vera moved from Brantford to London, in 1950, where Don worked for 3M Canada for 43 years. After retiring, Don and Vera spent 10 happy winters in Riverview, Florida. Don found great joy in square dancing for over 50 years, with city and trailer clubs in Canada and the U.S. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Don’s life will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Sunday, July 6th at 2:00 p.m. Donations in Don’s memory to your charity of choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
