Obituary of James Albert Melville

Peacefully, surrounded by his family at University Hospital on Saturday, June 14, 2014, James “Jim” Albert Melville, of London, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of his late second wife, Frances Melville (2007). Loving Dad of James Melville (Sonia), Linda (Dave) Ramey and Angela (Brent) Johnston. Dear Grandpa of Henry, Max, Sam, Kyle, William, Eddie and Evelyn. Also survived by his first wife, Carol Melville. Brother of Bob Melville. Brother-in-law of Emiel Langelaan, Jim Brown, Dorothy Eyre, Anna Scott and Agnes Akins. Predeceased by parents James (1962) and Iola (1997) Melville; sisters June Melville (1936), Sue Langelaan (2000), and Ann Brown (2010); and mother-in-law Hazel Scott (2013). Will be sadly missed by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim was a dedicated Police Officer with the London Police Department from 1959 to 1990, retiring as a Staff Sergeant. He had a successful second career as a real estate agent for 20 years with the London St. Thomas Real Estate Board. Jim also enjoyed playing, coaching and watching various sports throughout his life. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation with interment of cremated remains at Woodland Cemetery at a later date.
