Obituary of Dr. Albert V. (Bert) Carron

Peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Monday, June 2nd, 2014, in his 73rd year. Beloved husband of Marcela (née Butlin). Loving father of Wendy (Steve), Brett (Katherine), Pat, Chris (Rose Anne) and Michelle. Cherished Poppa of Louisa, Anna and Will. Dear brother of Bob (Carmen), Fred, Suzanne (Gerry), Joanne (Ray) and Gerry (Laura). Bert was a distinguished athlete, author, professor, researcher and mentor who was internationally recognized for his contributions to Sport Psychology. His passing will be a great loss to the academic community. Bert will be dearly missed by his family, friends, colleagues and students at Western University. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday, June 6th, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Please join the family for a celebration of his life on Saturday June 7, 2014, between 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Great Hall, Somerville House, Western University. A private family service will take place with inurnment at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Salvation Army, Myeloma Canada or the Dr. Bert Carron Scholarship would be appreciated.
