Obituary of Lorraine Hoogervorst (née Ivany)

Peacefully, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer at Parkwood Hospital, on Friday, May 16th, 2014, in her 83rd year. Beloved mother of Jacqie (Bill) Janes and Valerie Martin. Cherished Nan of Sean Martin, Kevin Martin (Maria Thrasyvoulou) and Jason (Kelly) Janes, and “G.G.” of Alana Janes. Dear sister of Alice Doroshenco, Ruby Wills and Herb (Hilda) Ivany. Lori will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews across Canada, especially in Newfoundland and Ontario. Predeceased by her husband Tony and brothers Wiss and Clar Ivany. Lori was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and came to Ontario in 1958. She was a long-time member of the Anglican Church wherever she lived: Lori lived a life of service to her family, her church and her community. A memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday, May 23rd, 2014 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior.
