Obituary of Betty Lou Gibb
GIBB, Betty Lou (nee Teahen) - With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Born in Chatham, Ontario on September 19, 1929. Mom and Dad moved to London in 1964 where they enjoyed a full and wonderful life. Loving wife of Kenneth Gibb (2010) and loving mother of Joanne and Colleen (Joseph) Monaco and cherished grandmother of Madeline and Brittany. Dear sister of Joan (Leo) Clement of Chatham and the late Jack (Doris) Teahen, and Doris (Boyd) Reader. Sister-in-law of Lynda (Albert) VanDamme and the late Gene (Jean) Gibb. Lou will be missed by her nieces, nephews and many, many dear friends. Mom was a registered nurse at SJHC in the delivery room, and an IV nurse at University Hospital, who always wore her nursing cap proudly. She had great compassion for her patients, and had such a deep love of her children Joanne and Colleen. Not only a loving mother, but as adults a best friend that will be deeply missed, a very rare and special relationship for one to share with their mother. Mom was an expert gardener, enjoyed her regular bridge games with the "girls" and selfless caregiver to her husband Ken. A special thanks to everyone who supported Mom as a friend, caregiver, and health care professional. Mom, we love you, we miss you, and will forever hold you in our hearts and our memories. Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. One in six women will be diagnosed with Alzheimers by age 65. To celebrate Lou, plant something in your garden this spring to remember her by. A celebration of Mom's life will be held at The Windermere Manor, 200 Collip Circle, London, ON, North Meeting Room, on Sunday, March 23rd at 2 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.westviewfuneralchapel.com
