Obituary of Mirko Pasic

Peacefully, with family by his side at The Village of Glendale Crossing, London, on Thursday, October 10th, 2013 in his 89th year. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Beloved husband of Janja (née Knezic) for 57 years. Loving father of Dan (Lorie) and Marko. Adoring and adored “Jedo” of Mikhial and Nicholas. Dearly missed by brothers Branko (Trojana), Djuro, Dusan (Jovanka), Radomoir (Ivka); his sister Dragica (Robert); and by his numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family both in Canada and abroad: he treasured them all. Predeceased by his parents Djuro and Todora, sister Djuka and sister-in-law Janja. A proud Canadian since immigrating in 1951 and lifelong Maple Leafs fan, and Team Canada supporter, Mirko never shied away from striking up a conversation with a friendly face which served him well throughout his life, in particular during his days as a letter carrier for Canada Post. Special thanks to the amazing staff and volunteers at The Village of Glendale Crossing for their kindness, care and compassion. Visitation will be held at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, on Tuesday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. with prayers at 7:45 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 5567 Wonderland Road South, London, on Wednesday, October 16th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mirko are asked to consider the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church Building Fund.
