It was after Mary Jo had died and though he was grieving her loss he still gave both residents and staff of Mt Hope the consideration that was so appreciated. Now he has been reunited with Mary Jo. He was not our family Doctor but always took the time to say hello and ask about the family. He helped guide me through and provide outstanding treatment for my numerous medical difficulties. I still remember when he came to visit me in the hospital on his own time "just to check up" during a long-term admission - not every doctor (or any) would do that. We were so shocked by this news. Al was our doctor for 25 years and still would have been, had we not moved to Mississauga 8 years ago. It was very difficult for us to give up Al as our doctor. We had such respect for him and always felt that he gave us his undivided attention, even though he was very busy. Al delivered both of our daughters and was such a compassionate, practical, and down-to-earth doctor. We have nothing but high respect and thanks to him for his key medical advice in several serious medical issues we had. Marguerite, and your family, we truly know and feel your loss. I have been his patient since moving to London in 1982 and can't imagine having a kinder, or more caring doctor. Dear Annen family: Years ago when I spent a few months in St. Joe's in the Anti-natal floor my doctor didn't have privileges there, Doctor Annen knew some of my family members as well as my doctor and he started coming around almost everyday to see me. .
